The rain on Thursday 2/17 left the trails with bare spots in some places and icy spots in others, making them not skiable.
If conditions improve enough to ski at some point in the remainder of the season, we will send out an update.

OPEN today, Thursday Feb 17 from 9am – 12pm
We had a great day of skiing yesterday on the upper trails, which were in great condition. In the late afternoon, our groomers were able to touch up the lower trails to get them ready for this morning. Warmer temps today will soften up what had been slick earlier in the week. Come up and enjoy the trails!
Please note that we will only be open for the first part of the day today!
The temperature is supposed to stay above freezing overnight tonight, so all trails will be soft in the morning, but we will groom to ensure the best possible conditions. Find our forecast here for hourly weather predictions here: https://www.wunderground.com/hourly/KPAHILLS3/date/2022-02-17
A special shout out to our trail groomers for working hard this past week to keep the upper trails in great shape for skiing! Many skiers were grateful for the opportunity to still be able to ski. Thank you!
We will be open 9:00am – 4:30pm Wednesday 2/16 for skiing and snowshoeing (on snowshoe trails only). We are unsure how long we will be able to keep the current snow, so come up to enjoy skiing on the beautiful trails while you can! Please stop at our camp office to check in (at the sign in the road), rather than driving through to the Ski Shop.
We will be closed on Thursday 2/17 due to forecasted rain. Stay tuned for updates after Thursday.
Current Trail Conditions
Currently skiing on the upper trails only (Pitchpine, Laurel, Blue Moon, Big Fern, Little Fern, North Star, South Ridge). We have been out grooming this morning and the conditions on the upper trails should progress quickly from good to great! All trails will soften up due to warm temperatures on Wednesday, so there is a possibility the lower trails would be skiable later today.
Road Conditions
The mountain road is much improved from last week as much of the ice has melted off. Our part of the road is cindered. However, some sections of both roads are still very slick. We strongly recommend that guests have snow tires and/or chains to make it up the mountain, in addition to 4WD or AWD. Crystal Lake is not responsible for assisting anyone who gets stuck. The best option is to call non-emergency police for assistance, or Shrewsbury township for plow help: (570) 584-3079.

We will be open 9:00am – 4:30pm Tuesday 2/15 for skiing on the upper trails and snowshoeing open on all trails, and Wednesday 2/16 for skiing on upper trails and snowshoeing on snowshoe trails. We will be charging half day rates all day on both days. Come enjoy the beautiful trails!
Please stop at our camp office to check in (at the sign in the road), rather than driving through to the Ski Shop.
Current Trail Conditions
The lower trails have hardened are very slick and fast, but the upper trails have kept more snow and are skiable but fast. On Wednesday 2/16, the trails will likely soften up due to warm temperatures. We are unsure how long we will be able to keep the current snow, so come up to enjoy skiing while you can! We will continue to groom to ensure the best possible trail conditions.
Special thanks to Skip Stackhouse for making a large number of new trail signs. We are working to get them all up to replace many old or missing signs.
